Getting Your First Section Live

When you first install Iconic Sections, the Setup Guide appears on your dashboard. It is a short three-step checklist designed to get you from a fresh install to a working section on your store as quickly as possible.

You do not have to complete all three steps in one sitting, but finishing them in order is the fastest path to having sections live on your storefront.

Finding the Setup Guide

The Setup Guide is displayed at the top of the Iconic Sections dashboard — the first page you see when you open the app. It shows a circular progress indicator so you can see how many steps you have completed at a glance.

Each task can be expanded to reveal a description and the action button. Click any task heading to expand it.

Step 1: Watch the Introduction

This short video gives you a visual overview of how Iconic Sections works — how to browse sections, install them, and add them to your store using the Theme Editor. Watching it first saves you time because you will understand the full flow before you start clicking around.

After watching, come back to the dashboard. The task will be marked complete.

Step 2: Enable the App Embed

What to do: Click Enable Iconic Sections to go directly to the App Embeds section of your Shopify Theme Editor.

This is the most critical step. The App Embed must be enabled before any section will appear on your live storefront. When the Theme Editor opens, find Iconic Section in the App Embeds list, toggle it ON, and click Save.

Do not skip this step. If the App Embed is not enabled, sections you install will not display on your store, even after a successful installation.

Step 3: Explore Sections

What to do: Click Explore Sections to go to the full section library.

Browse the 167+ available sections, use the category filters and search bar to find what fits your store, and try or install your first section. This step is complete as soon as you visit the Sections page.

Use the Free filter tab on the Sections page to see all sections available at no cost — a good way to try the app before making any purchases.

After Completing All Three Steps

Once all three tasks are checked off, the Setup Guide closes automatically. Your dashboard will then show a clean overview of your installed sections, popular sections, and performance highlights.

If you want to dismiss the guide before completing all steps, you can collapse it manually — but completing the App Embed step is strongly recommended before doing so.

Frequently asked questions

Can I re-open the Setup Guide after dismissing it?

Once the Setup Guide is dismissed or all tasks are completed, it does not reappear automatically. If you need to revisit any of the steps — for example, to enable the App Embed on a new theme — you can do so directly without the guide. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize > App Embeds to enable the embed, or navigate to the Sections page to explore the library again.

Can I skip the Setup Guide steps?

You can collapse the guide or ignore it, but skipping Step 2 (enabling the App Embed) means no sections will appear on your storefront. The guide is there to prevent that exact situation. Steps 1 and 3 are optional in the sense that they do not affect functionality, but Step 2 is required for the app to work correctly on your live store.

What if the Setup Guide does not appear on my dashboard?

If you do not see the Setup Guide after installing the app, try refreshing the page. If it still does not appear, it is possible it was dismissed during a previous session or your account has already completed the tasks. You can still manually enable the App Embed by going to Online Store > Themes > Customize > App Embeds in your Shopify admin without using the guide.
