Sections Not Showing on Store? Fix It Now
You have installed a section, but it is not appearing on your Shopify storefront. This is one of the most common questions, and in most cases, it has a quick fix. Work through the causes below in order.
Cause 1: App Embed Is Not Enabled (Most Common)
If your sections are installed but invisible on your storefront, the App Embed is almost certainly the reason. The App Embed is a required one-time toggle that must be enabled in your theme before any section will appear.
How to fix it:
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
Click Customize on your currently published theme.
In the Theme Editor, click the puzzle piece icon (App Embeds) in the left sidebar.
Find the Iconic Section and confirm the toggle is turned ON.
If it is off, toggle it ON.
Click Save.
Refresh your storefront.
If the App Embed was already enabled and the section is still not showing, continue to the next causes below.
Cause 2: Section Not Added to a Page
Installing a section adds its files to your theme but does not automatically place it on any page. You still need to add it manually in the Theme Editor.
How to fix it:
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize in Shopify admin.
Navigate to the page where you want the section to appear.
Click Add section in the left sidebar.
Find the section by name and click to add it.
Configure the section's settings and click Save.
Cause 3: Section Installed on the Wrong Theme
Your section may have been installed on a different theme than the one currently published on your live store.
How to fix it:
Go to My Library in the Iconic Sections app.
Find the section and check whether it is listed as Installed.
If it is not installed on your published theme, use the install option to add it to the correct theme.
To check which theme is published: in Shopify admin > Online Store > Themes, the published theme is labeled Current theme.
Cause 4: Section Is Hidden in the Theme Editor
The section may be installed on the right theme and added to the right page but set to hidden in the Theme Editor.
How to fix it:
Open the Theme Editor and navigate to the page.
Look at the section in the left sidebar — a hidden section shows a closed eye icon.
Click the eye icon to make it visible.
Click Save.
Cause 5: Browser Cache
Your browser may be showing a cached version of your store from before the section was installed.
How to fix it: Hard-refresh your storefront by pressing Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac). This forces your browser to reload the page fresh from the server.
After enabling the App Embed, always save the theme in the Theme Editor before refreshing your storefront. If you navigate away before saving, the App Embed toggle reverts to its previous state.
